Welcome to BorrowCash ("we," "our," or "us"). We are a loan discovery platform that helps Nigerian borrowers find and compare loan offers from verified lenders.

BorrowCash collects ZERO personal data. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, BVN, or bank details. We are not a lender — we're a discovery platform powered by advertising revenue.

By using BorrowCash, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Anonymous Usage Data (Firebase Analytics)

We collect anonymous analytics data to understand how users interact with the app:

App events: Screen views, button taps, search submissions
Device information: Device type (e.g., Samsung Galaxy), OS version (e.g., Android 13)
App performance: Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics), load times
Session data: How long you use the app, which features you access

Important: This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify you personally from this data.

2.2 Search Criteria (Temporary, In-Memory Only)

When you fill out the loan search form, we temporarily store:

Loan amount you're looking for
Preferred interest rate range
Repayment duration
Loan purpose (e.g., Business, Education)
Employment type selection

How we handle this data:

✅ Stored only in device memory (RAM) while the app is open
✅ Used only to show you relevant loan ads
✅ Automatically deleted when you close the app
❌ Never sent to our servers
❌ Never stored permanently
❌ Never linked to your identity

2.3 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

BorrowCash displays ads from Google AdMob to generate revenue. AdMob may collect:

Ad interaction data: Which ads you view or tap
Device identifiers (optional): Advertising ID (only if you consent)
IP address: Your approximate location (country/city level)

You can control advertising data through your device settings (see Section 6).

4. How We Use Your Data

4.1 App Functionality

Show relevant ads: Your search criteria (loan amount, purpose) are used to display contextually relevant loan offers from advertisers
Improve app performance: Crash reports help us fix bugs
Optimize user experience: Analytics help us understand which features are most useful

4.2 Revenue Generation

BorrowCash is free because we earn revenue from ads. When you view or click ads:

Lenders pay Google AdMob for ad impressions and clicks
Google shares a portion of that revenue with us
You get free access to loan discovery without paying subscription fees

4.3 What We Don't Do With Your Data

❌ Share your search history with lenders
❌ Build user profiles for marketing
❌ Send you promotional emails or SMS (we don't have your contact info!)

6. Your Privacy Rights

6.1 Under Nigerian Law (NDPR)

The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) gives you the right to:

Access: Request what data we hold about you (spoiler: almost none!)
Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
Erasure: Delete your data
Objection: Object to data processing

6.2 Under GDPR (EU/UK Users)

If you're in the European Economic Area or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us using the information in Section 9.

6.3 Control Advertising

Android:

Open Settings → Google → Ads
Toggle "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
Tap "Reset advertising ID" to get a new identifier

iOS:

Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
Toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
Toggle off "Personalized Ads"

7. Children's Privacy

Age requirement: BorrowCash is intended for users aged 18 and above. Loan products in Nigeria require users to be legal adults.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used our app, please contact us immediately at support@borrowcash.space.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

✅ The "Last Updated" date at the top will change
✅ Material changes will be notified via in-app banner
✅ The updated policy will be posted at borrowcash.space/privacy

Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
